Below are the fliers I received from the Teaneck PBA and the NJ Association of Chiefs of Police. According to the first flier, "Council members Parker and Toffler have already stated publicly that they oppose this ordinance and voted against its introduction."
Since Barbara suggested that we 'follow the money', let's take a look back through the NJ Elec reports (also included below).
In the report filed by Teaneck New Beginnings, of which Parker was a member - on 5/2/06, the PBA gave $3,000 to their campaign (see below). In the 6/1/06 R1 report filed with NJ Elec, it shows that the Professional Fire Officers of Teaneck gave an additional $500 to Teaneck New Beginning's campaign (see below).
In fact, Parker got enough funding from the PBA and the Fire Department that she was able to give her next campaign an in-kind contribution from the left-over campaign funds. See the 3/18/2008 Report (also below) which shows that $1200+ was given to the Committee to Elect Lizette Parker and another $1200+ went to the Committee to Elect Margot Fisher.
Is it any wonder that some council members already have their minds made up?
